The Cold and Lovely (Festival Stage)

The Cold and Lovely is the brainchild of Meghan Toohey (The Weepies, Lenka, Schuyler Fisk), and Nicole Fiorentino (The Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Spinnerette). After several years as a producer and session player, Toohey returned to her roots as a songstress, writing the band’s eponymous debut album. When her songs began achieving placements on television shows such as Gossip Girl, Grimm, Chasing Life and Vampire Diaries, she knew she was on the right path. The band's sophomore album, Ellis Bell, is an E.P. recorded primarily in their home studio and mixed/mastered by Dave Cooley (Silversun Pickups/M83). After a very successful Pledge Music Campaign to support their third record, The Cold and Lovely are releasing the full length "What Will I Become" mixed by Bryan Cook (One Republic, Train, Autolux) on January 20th, 2015.

Reflecting on the band's work, Toohey says: “With the first record, we were just getting our feet wet. Working together over past few years has matured our relationship, and I wanted our future records to reflect this growth. I dug deep into albums that changed my life, such as My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, PJ Harvey’s entire catalog, and the work of bands like The Cure and U2. But it was Nicole who really helped me shake out the sounds and pinpoint what I loved about the guitar tones and production. We wanted more grit on these records and the result is, for us, incredibly fresh and exciting. The songs are dark and brooding but at the same time joyful."

Toohey and Fiorentino are both staunch believers in empowering young women and girls through music education. Both are volunteers and supporters of Rock N' Roll Camp For Girls in Los Angeles.

Bullet & Snowfox (Festival Stage)

Bullet & Snowfox is the musical lovechild of Kristen Wagner and Josh Shapiro. What began as a carefully crafted Craigslist ad has quickly evolved into LA’s hottest party. After parting ways with her previous band, Shut Up Stella
(Epic Records), Kristen was searching for something new, something raw and something with fire. Enter Josh, hot off the heels of a bass gig with a local funk band, he was looking for something not just to be a part of, but to spawn... and
with a clear and complementary division of labor, they did just that. With influences ranging from Siouxsie and the Banshees and Arctic Monkeys to Elastica and Blondie, they have created a unique brand of dance-rock with an
infectious energy that can’t be stopped. Their combination of intoxicating synth-pop beats, aggressive guitar hooks and piss and vinegar attitude demand attention from the moment the first note catches your ear.

In 2009, Kristen and Josh teamed up with Manimal Vinyl’s own electro-pop producer, Baron von Luxxury (LittleBoots, Glass Candy), to begin crafting their self-titled debut EP. This fiery twosome, joined on stage by bass player
Drew Behj and drummer Morrison Nichols, have made their mark playing festivals such as KCRW’s Bloomfest, famed LA venues including Viper Room, The Sayers Club, The Satellite and Harvard & Stone, took to the runway with a
performance at LA Fashion Week and hit the stage at Hard Rock Hollywood with pop icons, Bananarama. Through years of honing their craft as an unstoppable live act, Bullet & Snowfox have shared the stage with high profile artists such as Imagine Dragons, Grouplove and Dead Sara, among others. Their electro-pop-rock sounds have also been heard pulsing out of television sets with music featured on MTV, Oxygen Network and The CW, as well as being appearing in the independent film, 'Amber Lake.' The blogosphere tastemakers have taken note too, creating a viral buzz that is undeniable. The Culture of Me writes “The songs are truly the real deal and the center of the story. It’s punk, it’s new wave, it’s dance, it’s pretty brilliant and still hard edged... and boy is it fun.”
On November 4th, 2014, Bullet & Snowfox released their sophomore EP ‘Operator’ followed by a residency at underground Hollywood hotspot, Harvard & Stone, and in May 2015 were featured in the new Volkswagen Beetle ad
campaign. This dynamic blend of musicians are a force that has already taken L.A. by storm and show no signs of slowing down, so get ready for the Bullet & Snowfox train because it's coming… and fast.

Phat Cat Swinger More Info
Phat Cat Swinger

It was a warm California night in August of 2002 when founding members, Marco Palos & Will Pattinson teamed up to create and refine a sound that had gone missing from the airwaves. Booming toms, jumpin’ rhythms and a powerful horn section blended with the sweet vocals of their crooner, Douglas Roegiers, were all the perfect ingredients for this creation. It became known as, “Phat Cat Swinger,” a 10-piece West Coast big band that specializes in high-energy music with a vintage touch!

Phat Cat Swinger has toured the U.S., headlined festivals, and crossed overseas to Europe. They have performed at the world-famous Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills and billed with acts: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Royal Crown Revue, Poncho Sanchez, and Doo-wop legends: The Coasters.

Hollywood loves Phat Cat Swinger and has even featured them in videos with Christina Aguilera (Candyman), The Jonas Brothers (Love Bug) and Irish rock band, Snow Patrol (In The End). They were even selected among California's best big bands by JJ Abrams to perform for his company, Bad Robot Productions, over the holidays.

The band's ingenious selection of songs range from Sinatra to The Black Keys. There are no lines drawn here. But no matter what the band plays, you’ll be smiling and laughing all night long. Grab a seat, order a drink, and enjoy the ride.
Phat Cat Swinger is a group you can't afford to miss!

Miss Tosh More Info
Miss Tosh

Miss Tosh grew up in Venice Beach, California in what she likes to describe as a seaside sideshow atmosphere that nurtured her creative fantasies. Tosh grew up idolizing cabaret legends of the past such as Marlene Dietrich, Josephine Baker, and Sally Rand. Miss Tosh then transformed her self from an average California beach girl into a glamour girl like those she admired. Miss Tosh’s lifestyle transformation is rooted in bringing back elegance, sophistication, and celebrating eccentric glamour.

Miss Tosh is a performance artist who combines her love for The Golden Era of Cinema with her love for fashion. Her performances challenge tropes of femininity and notions of the erotic, while always leaving the audience dazzled, dazed and wanting more.

Miss Tosh grew up as a dancer trained by the legendary Debbie Allen, becoming fluent in fifteen styles of dance ranging from ballet to tribal. In 2009 Miss Tosh relocated to Chicago receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the world-renowned fashion department of the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois.

Tosh’s fashion collections are notorious for pushing the boundaries and limitations of what is to be expected. Her sophisticated use of technology, couture construction and her whimsical style takes audiences on a journey into fantasy and spectacle.

Tosh opened her first SAIC runway show with a sponsorship from Swarovski Crystals. Her piece was the only sound and motion sensitive garment Chicago’s SAIC runway has ever experienced. Tosh is also the first student to showcase a collection for a senior age group, sending “Gmama’s” dancing down the runway during SAIC’s 80th anniversary fashion show.

The Chicago Sun Times describes Tosh’s work as “Inspired designs and dazzling garments.” In her collections you can expect Swarovski encrusted head wear, amongst digitally designed fabrics, tailored suits and bias cut gowns. She works in an atelier setting, collaborating with clients in order to create one of a kind garments. Tosh has created work for Celebrity stylist Laura Duncan, Burlesque Star Catherine D’Lish, Far East Movement, Riff Raff, Drag Icon Sissy Spastik, and The Oscar Night of 100 Stars. Maybelline New York, Ulta, Vogue Italia, Sorbet Magazine, MTV and Swarovski Crystals have featured Tosh’s work.

In addition to her career as a fashion designer, Tosh is a self-styled fashion muse' featured in the nations top best-dressed lists. Miss Tosh is celebrated amongst publications such as New York Times, New York Fashion Decode, Nylon Magazine, Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Street Style, Chicago Looks, Culture Coquette, New City Chicago, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Reader, LA Weekly, Korean Style Magazine Cracker Your Wardrobe, and The Wall Street Journal.

LA Weekly crowned him ”the most wildly inventive new talent of the past five years” while New York Magazine hailed Reggie as “Spectacularly original,” Rolling Stone featured him as “Hot Comedian,” SPIN named him as “Best New Comedian” and the LA Times praised Reggie is “a superstar.”

Viva Presents - Thee Commons

Psychedelic Cumbia Punks, Thee Commons from East Los Angeles have established a mark on the LA scene with a new vivacious and infectious style of music. Featuring “Los Hermanos Pacheco” and a series of rotating bassist, Thee Commons have self-released a 7inch and 10 inch vinyl, a 20 song LP CD, and a cassette release earlier this year via Burger Records. Opening up for acts such as Chicano Batman, Las Cafeteras, Bomba Estereo and unofficially for the Pixies via an impromptu “guerilla” style show on the streets, Thee Commons have won over hundreds of fans with their new style of music. Bridging the gap between a Latino demographic with their Cumbia sound and a semi “mainstream” Psychedelic Punk sound, Thee Commons have created a formula that makes their presence a force to be reckoned with. Playing at local venues such as The Echoplex, The Regent Theater, Orange County Observatory, Thee Commons have also toured through California, Arizona, and Tijuana, Mexico. Furthermore, Thee Commons hard work ethics and D.I.T. (do it together) attitude resulted in their 2015 compilation release “Rock is Dead: Long Live Paper and Scissors”; an 8 volume series of EP’s and Singles released monthly throughout 2014. While the previous year was one of prolific music making, the band continues to work hard and have played over a 100 shows thus far. Creating and perfecting an exhilarating live show while simultaneously spreading the gospel that is Psychedelic Cumbia Punk, the future looks bright for these young and determined "chunsters" as 2016 will see another 7inch release and a new repertoire of songs.

Press Reviews:

"Thee Commons is one more bit of evidence of Latino L.A.’s further dominance in the independent music scene. Sure, you can reminisce all you want about the days of Mika Miko and Moving Units (they were definitely fun!) but, that was then and this is now. Besides, L.A.’s Latino scene has a couple of Grammy winners to boast of if you‘re into keeping track of that type of silverware.
What separates Thee Commons from their local brethren (Quetzal, Las Cafeteras, La Chamba, etc.) is their focus on that old-school rock & roll sound a la Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. There are flashes of cumbia chicha here and there reminiscent of Los Mirlos and Los Orientales De Paramonga as well.
“Rabbit And Rattles” is one of the tracks off their upcoming Sunburn at Midnight vinyl EP. The band’s style sounds like it belongs on vinyl. It’s super retro and I was surprised that a fight between sailors and greasers didn’t break out after I listened to it."
