    • What Is Night on Broadway?
    • Night on Broadway is a free arts and music festival produced by the City of Los Angeles in celebration of Councilmember José Huizar’s Bringing Back Broadway economic development initiative. Like never before, Night on Broadway awakens beautiful historic theatres along the Broadway corridor in Downtown Los Angeles with simultaneous, live performances. Outside, for 7 city blocks between the theatres, the street cultivates the spirit of Los Angeles through art, dance, interactive entertainment and more. L.A. is a mecca for creative talent of all kinds, and Night on Broadway is where it all shines - right in the heart of entertainment's birthplace in Los Angeles. From emerging musical acts to national stars, artists to acrobats, and fashion designers to food trucks, Night on Broadway is all about the City of Angels.
    • How Does It Work?
    • Night on Broadway takes place on Broadway in DTLA between 3rd Street and Olympic which is closed to traffic for the event. Night on Broadway program entertainment in the gorgeous, historic Broadway theatres, with all kinds of interactive art and experiences up and down the street between theatre venues. There will also be outdoor festival stages in various locations with even more musical acts. Attendees get to meander from venue to venue and experience to experience throughout this amazing Night on Broadway.
    • Can I See Everything In One Night?
    • Nope. With so many things to see, do and enjoy, it’s virtually impossible to experience everything Night on Broadway has to offer in one night. We recommend attendees choose what interests them most and create their own, unique #NightOnBroadway plan! Most attendees find they can see two to three theatres at some point in the night, and can often manage to walk the entire length of the corridor, if they choose. Some attendees stay outside all night, immersing themselves in incredible Los Angeles-based art, while others settle in at one of the beautiful theatres and let the evening unfold. It’s really up to you!
    • What is the History of Night on Broadway?
    • Night on Broadway was first produced in 2015, after a successful “Day on Broadway” event in 2014 that included walking tours and docent-led discussions about Broadway’s 12 historic theatres in celebration of the 6th anniversary of Councilmember Huizar's Bringing Back Broadway initiative. A night time event was envisioned to bring a critical mass of people to Broadway with programming in multiple venues and art along the street. The event was an overwhelming success in its first year (2015,) drawing 35,000 people from across the city to experience Broadway. In its 2nd year, 2016, Night on Broadway drew 60,000 people, making it the fastest-growing one-day arts & music festivals in North America, and possibly the largest. The next Night on Broadway will be Saturday January 28, 2017 and it’s already gearing up to be the best Night on Broadway yet!
    • Is it really free?
    • Yes. Night on Broadway is free, and open for all ages. Some optional activities, such as food purchase and Ferris wheel tickets have an additional cost, but all art, performances and theatre exploration is free. Bring your friends!
    • How do you do this for free?
    • We know most festivals of this size, scale and quality are (often expensive) ticketed events. Night on Broadway is a primarily an economic development tool for the City of Los Angeles – businesses often have the best night of their year at Night on Broadway. We’re all about letting the entire city know how amazing Downtown is, with Broadway at the heart of it all. We also have amazing sponsors who support this event with the major funding necessary to keep the event free and local. We encourage you to support them so they can support us!
    • Are tickets required?
    • No. But, we love when people RSVP because it allows us to keep you informed about program updates, new acts being announced and other fun details about the upcoming event. In our new partnership with DoLA, you will also have the opportunity to select from all the programming options and create your own, unique, Night on Broadway schedule. More on that as we get closer to the event and have announced our lineup. With so many things to see, do and experience, no two people’s Night on Broadway will be exactly the same.
    • What are the hours of the event?
    • Night on Broadway 2017 will run from 4pm to 11pm.
    • Is alcohol permitted at the event?
    • Alcohol will be available for purchase in select venues, but is prohibited on the street.
    • Is smoking allowed at the event?
    • No smoking is permitted at the event.
    • Is it kid-friendly?
    • Yes. Night on Broadway is for all ages – we even have a kids’ zone and lots of fun activities for the small humans we love so much. Kids love looking around, interacting with the art and checking out the gorgeous historic theatres. And, kids of all ages love a Ferris wheel, which we put right in the middle of Broadway to offer a perch-view above Downtown like you’ve never seen before. We recommend baby-wearing for small children, as navigating the crowds with a stroller is tough, even for the most seasoned pros. Some acts may not be appropriate for all ages, mostly for language. Those that require parental awareness will be marked on the venue map.
    • Where should I park?
    • We really think you shouldn’t. We want you to please take transit and / or ride your bike. Night on Broadway is a stone’s throw from the Red Line Pershing Square station and central to all DTLA transit. Those who drive should expect HEAVY traffic and plan your arrival / departure time accordingly. When you hit gridlock, try deep breathing and remember we suggested alternate ways of getting here. For those who decide to drive, parking is available at the City’s Pershing Square Parking Garage at posted hourly rates. A flat rate of $7 is available for vehicles entering after 5pm, and exiting before 2am. Surface lots and garages in the area offer varying commercial prices.Special event flat-rates are available for Night on Broadway at area Joe’s, City Center, and Paragon Parking lots in the area.
    • I’m hungry!
    • Broadway’s restaurants and bars make themselves a big part of Night on Broadway, offering menu specials and more. Additionally, Night on Broadway will have dozens of food trucks and vendors located throughout the event area, so you can chow down on whatever you crave!
    • Can I get local discounts?
    • Yes! Please refer to our for Discounts section for more information. We will populate the discounts page with offers as the event gets closer, but there are always lots of options. Night on Broadway hearts local businesses and they appreciate your support!
